Plan
The Cal-Plan curriculum consists of study in six
academic areas and includes a program of vocational
experience for teachers and their students. Before
applying to MTAC, the prospective applicant must first take
and pass a performance evaluation, which includes specific
suggested repertoire from four eras of music. Playing time
should be 30-45 minutes and repertoire should be
Certificate of Merit Level 8 or higher. After passing the
performance evaluation, the applicant is entitled to submit
an application for membership to the State Cal-Plan Chair.
Enrollees must complete all requirements in three years of
self-study.
