Work Assignments:
Please be prepared to work the shifts that Joanie Grubaugh has
assigned. Teacher work assignments are a huge job and Joanie
deserves the biggest medal of honor for the hours she spends
arranging the work shifts. Please remember that if you cannot work
your shift you must let Teri Watson know ASAP and pay a $250/shift
fee so that the branch can hire qualified replacements. You may not
send a replacement for yourself.
Cell phones: Please limit your cell phone use
during CM as much as possible. If the Chair of an area needs to
contact me, that’s fine. Personal calls and calls to students
(unless they are running late) must be avoided. If we can limit
cell phone use during CM we will be avoiding a State mandated
restriction of cell phone use. Thank you for helping.
Parking: Parking on the Hope Campus will
NOT be available. Tell parents to park on the west side of
Commonwealth in the CSUF lot. This is free on Saturday and there
are no gates or barriers.
Lunch: Will be provided for teachers working all
day and for student volunteers. If you are working one shift,
please bring your own lunch if needed.
Honors Recital: Watch for the deadline
Convention Application: Final convention
application is April 15th. No late applications accepted.

COMPOSERS TODAY
This a a reminder that your entries for Evaluations are due
February 6th. This is a great Convention opportunity for your
composition students.
Students can enter these same compositions in other contests as
well. We have our State Composition Contest, our OCN Branch
Composition Contest, the Piano Explorer National Composition
Contest and they can also play it as a piece for National Guild (as
long as it is written out by hand). If the notes are computer
generated, students can play it as an improvisation and notate the
chord progression for the judge to look at.
